Are you ready for Basecamp 2025?
Basecamp is a weekend away for youth groups that Thrive hosts and leads. Youth Leaders bring their groups along to build relationships with their young people and meet other youth groups from across Warwickshire & Coventry. Join us from Friday 31st January – Sunday 2nd February 2025.
What is Basecamp?
The weekend is called Basecamp because it is a chance to retreat away (back to base!) from the busyness of everyday life, to have fun with friends, make some new friends, and spend time with God.
Join us for another faith-filled weekend away at Basecamp’25, at the Pioneer Centre! Risk the heights of the Zip Wire or take on the challenge course, and enjoy all that the centre has to offer. We will spend time gathering together to worship Jesus and to learn how we can live more like him.
So invite your friends and your youth group (not forgetting your youth leader!) and book on for what promises to be a fun-packed weekend.
Who’s it for?
Those in school years 7-13 are welcome to come along, with your youth leaders! Basecamp is an opportunity for local youth groups to gather together, to meet and get to know other Christians from the area in a fun and informal way whilst also furthering your faith. Come develop new friendships and deepen existing ones! (Youth leaders must be DBS checked and safely recruited by their local church.)
Please note, young people can only attend if there is at least one adult from their church attending.
What’s involved?
It all takes place at the Pioneer Centre, Shropshire. It’s a great place with fantastic facilities and food.
Bring your youth group along to partake in activities such as:
- worship, teaching and time for prayer
- outdoor activities like climbing, abseiling and ropes course
- discussions on life, the Bible and faith
It starts on the Friday evening and ends on Sunday afternoon.
How much does it cost?
- Early bird rate (ends 31st October): £130
- Deposit ticket (ends 31st October): £60, with £85 balance due by 1st December.
- Standard price (Deadline is before 1st December): £145
This covers everything: transport, accommodation, meals, activities etc. If cost is a problem, do speak to your youth leader. We don’t want anyone to miss out!
Transport will be from one of three locations: Leamington Spa, Warwick, Coventry. (Other locations can be arranged if there are sufficient attendees from that particular area).
We will be hearing about how we can make the most of life, be bold in our choices and live lives that make the world a better place. We’ll chat together and encourage each other to live a life of adventure, rooted in a relationship with Jesus.
Youth leaders
The purpose of these weekends is taking all the pressure off your shoulders in organising a weekend away, and to allow you to spend time investing in the relationships with your young people. Thrive will organise all the content, worship, teaching, activities, and admin for the whole weekend, allowing you to do what you are called to do: to invest in your young people.
This isn’t a weekend to send your young people on – it’s a weekend to bring your young people to. We create an environment for both young people and adults, to interact. So, we ask every church who send young people on the weekend to provide at least one adult, DBS-checked leader to be responsible for your group. Please supply at least one adult for every 8 young people.
