We are delighted to announce that Marvin Vogel has just joined our staff team. Marvin is our Youth Outreach Enabler, a brand new role that complements the expanding work that we are doing.
The role is to help churches specifically try new ways to reach out to young people who are not connected to a church and would not ever think of being so! The role will include overseeing our work with the Warwick Youth Bus, and so one of his first tasks is to learn how to drive the double-decker bus.
We are so excited to welcome Marvin and we thought you might like to get to know him a bit…
Marvin, why have you joined Thrive?
Having been a youth worker at various churches for 15 years, I always felt that my next step would be using this experience to help other churches with their youth work. I am excited by Thrive’s vision of supporting churches around the area and beyond.
What are you most looking forward to in the new role?
I’m looking forward to passing on my experience as a youth worker with the hope it will make a difference to the life of youthwork in the local Church in Christ. I’m excited about helping Thrive explore the potential of the bus project.
What’s a favourite Bible verse of yours?
Psalm 68 v 5: ‘A father to the fatherless, a defender of widows, is God in his holy dwelling.’
My father died when I was 5 years old. Growing up without a dad I reflected positively on how God filled this position.
What makes you happy?
Family, adventure and thinking out new ideas.
What can we pray for as you start this new role?
Please pray for our family as a whole as we settle into the Warwick area.
Please join us in thanking God for bringing Marvin to the Thrive team and pray for him as he makes the best possible start this term!
